lists

Lists are useful for the creative mind. They are useful for organising, but they are useful for thinking too. I am interested in lists that help us to understand the word around us. In trying to understand the nature and being of children and childhood, make some lists:

  • things in a child’s pocket

  • sweets

  • admonishing phrases from your parents

  • friends from your childhood

I wrote: things in a child’s school bag:

lunchbox, water bottle, gloves, scarf, hat, pencil case, bits of paper, paper plane, snack pot, hand cream, a stick, reading book, reading record book, snap wrist band, YoYo card, fidget spinner, lip salve, pencil, more bits of paper, a stone.

Lists are powerful things for collecting ideas and learning.
